A Set of Six Imari Dishes, An Imari Bottle and a Pair of Lacquer Jardinières
Edo - Meiji period (late 17th - late 19th century)
Each dish similarly decorated in red, yellow, green and aubergine enamels and gilt on underglaze blue with a scalloped cartouche depicting a stylised plum branch encircled by plates with various flowers and patterns, the reverse with peonies and scrolling foliage, signed Dai Min Kasei Nen Sei; the bottle decorated in typical enamels and gilt with peonies and chrysanthemums; each jardinière with a drawer decorated in gold and silver hiramaki-e on a black lacquered ground with stylised cherry blossom flowers and scrolling foliage, the base and the interior with nashiji, brass container
