Painted overall with flowering branches within reserves and strapwork in gilt-heightened red and blue on a white ground, the slightly domed cover with milled silver border and openwork foliage finial, the body with two rocaille, foliage and strapwork handles and with plain foot with milled border, the lid Edo period and associated, marked on foot and each handle, the foot, handles and rim with the décharge of Hubert Louvet
