Jean-Gabriel Imbert, maître in 1776

Although the design for this clock can be closely related to that of François Vion, maître in 1764, (see drawing in H. Ottomeyer and P. Pröschel, et al., Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich, 1986, p. 193), it is nevertheless interesting to note that in Jean-Dominique Augarde's Les Ouvriers du Temps, a case of similar design is said to be by Jean-Joseph de Saint-Germain (maître fondeur in 1748).
