Lot Essay

This map would have been used in the Command Module during the 6 day orbit of the Moon. Launched on 26 July 1971, Apollo 15 carried more scientific instrumentation than any previous NASA mission, including the famed lunar rover. Returning on 7 August, it was hailed as the most successful mission.
