A German early 18th Century sugar bowl
on a rising shaped square base chased with a frieze of arabesques, the gilt-lined divided fluted tapering shaped oval bowl also decorated with arabesques and with a central stem applied with a shaped plate with apertures to hold spoons, one difficient, surmounted by a putto holding a pair of simple sugar tongs and a mote spoon with finely-pierced bowl, maker's mark A.N. or A.M., the remainder unidentified - 10in. (25.25cm.) overall, 7oz.
