A German parcel-gilt cup and cover
in the 17th Century taste, the domed circular base decorated with gardening and military trophies and applied with three lizards, the mask-decorated baluster stem applied with three scrolls, the tapering bowl chased and embossed with a broad frieze of mermaids, a frieze of swags beneath, a frieze of fruit above, the lobed cover rising to three ram's masks, their horns supporting a finial modelled as a kneeling knight in armour, the finial now detached - 18½in.
