Il travailla pendant près de quarante ans dans le monde du spectacle, créant non seulement des affiches mais aussi de nombreux décors de théâtre et de cinéma.
Considered as one of the greatest of French poster artists, Paul Colin gained fame in 1925 thanks to his poster for the "Revue nègre", a musical that launched the charleston in France as well as the career of the famous dancer Josephine Baker.
