CIRCA 1820, POSSIBLY BY LORENTZ WILHELM LUNDELIUS, STOCKHOLM
Mounted overall with white-marble Corinthian columns and pilasters, the pediment in the form of a domed temple, the upper section with three cupboards, each enclosing shelves, flanking a central cupboard with architectural interior fitted with burr birch and fruitwood secret drawers and mirrored 'stage-set' with illusionistic parquetry floor, sliding out to reveal three further oak secret drawers, the base with cylinder fall enclosing a partly inlaid interior, above four long drawers, some mounts later

A closely related mahogany secretaire similarly mounted with a circular 'Roman temple' with marble columns, by Lorentz Wilhelm Lundelius, is in the collection of the Nationalmuseum, Stockholm (Hakan Groth, Neoclassicism in the North, Swedish Furniture and Interiors 1770-1850, London, 1994, p. 209, fig. 25.)
