This tallboy was almost certainly inherited by Richard Rigg, the Rector of St Clements & St Michael Coslang in Norwich, who is recorded in the 1851 census at Bethel Street, Norwich, aged 45. Rigg was born in Cumberland and married a Mancunian. It is likely they spent their early years in Lancashire, which ties in with the typically North-West inlay on this piece.
