ATTRIBUTED TO GILLOWS, CIRCA 1825
Carved overall with bead-and-reel, paterae and scrolls, the superstructure with finely turned brass columns cast with tiny gilded stars, the main doors with brass dividing moulding, the central cupboard and left cupboard each with two adjustable shelves, the right cupboard with five sliding trays

Lot Essay

Numerous side cabinets of this overall form and with these carved details are shown in Gillows' Estimate Sketch Books in the 1820s. The partly gilded brass columns on this model however are a particularly luxurious touch.
