拍品專文

This drawing was given to Professor Richardson by the renowned poet laureate, Sir John Betjeman (1906-1984) with whom he was friends. It was traditionally attributed to the architect Robert Mylne as being of Almack's Assembly Rooms, King Street, St. James's. However, it has not been possible to support this attribution.

We are grateful to Stephen Astley, Helen Dorey and Susan Palmer and the rest of the team at the Sir John Soane's Museum, London for all their assistance with the group of 18th and 19th century architectural drawings and designs.
