Contemporary French mottled calf, triple-rule gilt border, with fleur-de-lys gilt-stamp at each corner, spine gilt in compartments, red morocco labels lettered in gilt, edges gilt (extremities rubbed, joints cracked, head and tail of spine worn). A HANDSOME COPY WITH FINE PROVENANCE, SHOWING LES INVALIDES IN ALL ITS ARCHITECTURAL GLORY. From the collection of Lord de Grey, first President of the RIBA, whose building of Wrest Park in the French style was certainly influenced by this book.
