In the manner of Thomas Johnson, each with a divided mirrored plate of assymetrical outline surmounted by a ho-ho bird with outstretched wings and bordered with foliate-headed pilasters with rocaille, C-scrolls and shaped platforms and issuing foliate scrolling candlebranches

The design of these girandoles is insprired by one by Thomas Chippendale which was illustrated in The Gentleman and Cabinet-Maker's Director, 3rd ed., London, 1763, pl. CLXXVIII (right). (2)
