Carved with loop-handles to the front; the bottom carved from a detatched, separate piece of marble
26½ in. (67 cm.) high; 68 in. (173 cm.) wide; 29 in. (74 cm.) deep
Provenance
Almost certainly Sir Anthony Wingfield, Ampthill House, Ampthill, from whom acquired circa 1940.

Sir Anthony Wingfield created his own private zoo at Ampthill House. This renowned collection was to form the basis of Whipsnade Zoo, near Dunstable in Bedfordshire.
