Meiji period (late 19th century), attributed to the workshop of Hayashi Kodenji
The body applied with handles decorated in colored polychrome enamels and gold and silver wires with panels, on one side with a pair of pheasants beneath a blossoming cherry tree against a cream ground, and the opposite side with swallows in flight and perched on wisteria against a green ground, the pierced cover, sides and base decorated with scrolling flowers
