The tapering ovoid form with high round shoulder and slightly flared neck, decorated in raised relief with various colored enamels and silver wires with four carps swimming through ripples, two in dark gray and two in orange tones, all against a pale gray ground

Gonda Hirosuke (1865-1937) was based in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, and is well known for his cloisonné works with the design of carps swimming through ripples in raised relief enamels.
