Isaac Moillon (d. 1673) is identified as the author of this tapestry set consisting of eight or possibly ten panels. The first documented mention of the series was in the inventory drawn up on the death of the Aubusson weaver Jacques de Claravaux in 1671 but numerous differing borders are recorded and thus a number of sets must have been woven.
