A fine 19th-century lacquered-brass compound monocualr microscope, signed on the base BAKER 244 High Holborn LONDON, the body-tube located on a Ross-type arm with focusing fine adjustment the massive saqure-section limb incorporating the rack and pinion coarse focusing and mechanical stage, the lower limb with plano-concave mirror, pivoting on an axis from the vertical supports, the stage and base with decorated lacquered finish, with double nose-piece, three objectives, sub-stage condenser, live-box and other items, in fitted mahogany case 15¼in. (39cm.) high
