A FINE PAIR OF SMALL GREEN-DECORATED YELLOW-GROUND DISHES
YONGZHENG SIX-CHARACTER MARKS IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN DOUBLE CIRCLES AND OF THE PERIOD (1723-1735)
Each has shallow rounded sides incised on the exterior with six stylized hibiscus sprays covered in a green enamel and on a lemon-yellow ground that also covers the interior.

Lot Essay

A very similar dish, but with a Kangxi mark, is illustrated in The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum- Miscellaneous Enamelled Porcelains and Plain Tricoloured Porcelains, Shanghai, 2009, p.144, no. 118. See, also, the similar Yongzheng-marked dish, but of slightly larger size (15.8 cm.), sold at Christie's New York, 18 September 2003, lot 360.
