A PAIR OF FAMILLE ROSE SPOONS
GUANGXU SIX-CHARACTER MARKS IN IRON RED AND OF THE PERIOD (1875-1908)
Each is decorated on the interior of the bowl below a key-fret border with butterflies in flight amidst scattered blossoms repeated on the top of the handle which terminates in a molded ruyi head. The exterior is decorated on a bright yellow ground with four roundels enclosing the characters wan shou wu jiang (longevity and prosperity without end), separated by bats suspending peaches and endless knots surrounding the nianhao within a gilt border on the base.
