A PAIR OF HUANGHUALI 'FOUR-CORNERS-EXPOSED OFFICIAL'S HAT' ARMCHAIRS, SICHUTOUGUANMAOYI

Each chair has a shaped crest rail with an S-shaped backsplat and curved arm rails, supported on curving vertical stiles, that extend beyond the front posts. Each chair is raised on rounded-square legs with shaped and beaded aprons and cusped spandrels set below a soft mat seat, and joined by stepped stretchers and a plain footrest.
