TWO RARE LARGE CLOISONNE ENAMEL VASES, HU
LATE QING DYNASTY
Each globular vase is decorated in horizontal registers with classic lotus scrolls in vivid enamels separated by narrow foliate scroll borders, all above the tall spreading foot. Floral bosses have been applied to the neck of one vase. Together with Choshunkaku zohin tenkan zuroku, Osaka: Choshunkaku zohin zuroku kankokai, 1936, in which the vase illustrated on the left in the catalogue is illustrated, pl. 196.
