A WHITE JADE RECTANGULAR PLAQUE
18TH/19TH CENTURY
The plaque is carved on one side with a figure walking with a halberd in his right hand looking up towards a prunus blossom, all within an openwork border of archaistic scroll. The reverse is carved with a poetic inscription referring to the scene. The stone is of even white tone with a brown inclusion. Together with a small white jade carving of two water caltrops, 18th/19th century. The stone is of even white tone, and is softly polished.

Acquired in Hong Kong in the 1960s-70s.
