A GREENISH-WHITE AND 'RUSSET' JADE BOULDER
18TH/19TH CENTURY
The boulder is carved from a large pebble of rounded, slender oval shape, and is carved on one side with a deer standing beneath a pine tree in a mountainous landscape, while the reverse is carved with wisps of mist emerging from openings in the mountain face. The greenish-white stone has areas of white mottling with added russet color.
