A CORAL CARVING OF TWO FEMALE MUSICIANS
The coral branch is carved as two slender female musicians standing on a rockwork base from which sprouts lingzhi and peony, each wearing long, layered robes and scarves, and with hair in a topknot, one holding a pipa, the other a sheng mouth organ.
11 in. (28 cm.) high, carved gilt-wood base, attributed to Edward I. Farmer, circa 1920.
