TWO PALE GREYISH-GREEN JADE 'SPRING WATER' OPENWORK PLAQUES
LATE MING DYNASTY, 16TH-17TH CENTURY
Each plaque is carved in openwork with a goose in flight amidst the intertwined stems of lotus plants. On the larger plaque the stems rise from waves at the lower border, and on the smaller, oblong plaque fine scrolling tendrils form the background within a plain outer border. On each the reverse is plain.
