A GREYISH-GREEN JADE CUP AND TRAY
LATE MING DYNASTY, 16TH-17TH CENTURY
The cup is raised on a ring foot and has a pair of angular handles carved on the flat tops with a quadrilobed motif. The quadrilobed, rectangular tray has a raised outer rim and a circular platform in the center, which is conformingly concave on the underside, and has a raised rim on top to accomodate the foot of the cup. The semi-translucent stone is of grey-green color and has fine opaque mottling throughout.
Cup 4½ in. (11.5 cm.) across handles, tray 6½ in. (16.5 cm.) long
