A WHITE JADE PENDANT OF TWO HUAN
18TH/19TH CENTURY
The pendant is well carved in the round and in openwork as two huan facing each other with paws touching. The white stone is softly polished.

Lot Essay

Huan is a pun for 'joy', and when two huan (shuanghuan) are depicted as they are in the present carving, they represent conubial happiness.
