IRAN, 17TH TO 19TH CENTURY
Comprising an 18th century panel of near square form, the gold ground decorated with rows of floral sprays, alternatively facing right and left (48 x 48cm.); a large panel with red silk ground decorated with a lattice of floral sprays between palmettes and rosettes, each embroidered with silver thread and blue highlights, mounted; a panel with lattice of artichoke-like flowers with confronted birds on cream ground; a panel onb silver ground with lattice of orange and salmon-pink floral sprays; a small mounted panel of motifs of roses and nightingales (gul-o bulbul) on frayed silver-thread ground; and a panel on cream ground decorated with a lattice of medallions with lions and sword, between calligraphic medallions and dragons, probably Qajar
