INDIA, 18TH CENTURY
Part of a set of body armour, the gold-damascened decoration arranged at the borders and composed of four registers of rising palmettes, floral motifs and scrolling tendrils, the buckles cut as scalloped medallions and rivetted, padded, one breast plate possibly added, gilt rubbed in places
Breasts plate 6¾ x 10½in. (17 x 27cm.); back plate 7½ x 11¼in. (19 x 29cm.) (4)
