Lot Essay

Five other pages from this album sold at Sotheby's, London, 3 October 2012, lots 85 to 89. They are copies of works by Mughal masters such as Manohar, Govardhan, Bichitr and Nanha which were prepared for an imperial album of Shah Jahan, known as the Kevorkian Album and now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. They were in the Collection of William (1784-1835) and James Fraser (1783-1856).
