The famous epic of Firdawsi, Persian manuscript on paper, 502ff. plus three fly-leaves, each folio with 21ll. of black nasta'liq script arranged in four columns between polychrome intercolumnar divisions, titles in red nasta'liq on gold ground within cartouche, text within gold and polychrome rules, with numerous original illustrations, opening folio with gold and polychrome illuminated headpiece, two other headpieces within the copy, colophon signed and giving the day and month of completion, another colophon possibly giving the date of 1270, in Ottoman 17th century brown morocco binding with gilt and stamped medallion, with modern doublures
