CASE: the case of typical form, inlaid overall with fruitwood bands, the hood with pierced silk-backed sound frets and surmounted by carved giltwood figural finials, with figural cartouche lenticle to door DIAL: the foliate-engraved brass dial with silvered chapter ring signed J. Vÿgs Rotterdam, floral silvered seconds ring with date aperture and painted moon phase, with ships automaton scene to the arch MOVEMENT: the two train movement with four knopped pillars and recoil anchor escapement, formerly with alarm, rack striking to bell, pendulum and two brass-cased weights; case key
