Lot Essay

The present figure is very similar to two figures of Theresa and Joseph in the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum in Munich, illustrated in R. Berliner, Die Bildwerke des Bayerischen Nationalmuseums IV, 1886, nos. 399 and 400.
