Lot Essay

A certain Qutb al-Din Hassan al-Tuni copied a Diwan of Khaqani in AH 1113/1605 AD and the Hadiqat al-Haqa'iq of Sana'i in AH 1125/1617 AD (Mehdi Bayani, Ahval va asar-e khosh-nevisan, Tehran, 1345 sh., no.789, p.583). Two folios from a Shahnama which had an original colophon signed by him are in this sale, lots 81 and 82. In the manuscript offered here, the a ra has later been added to the nisba al-Tuni to make it read al-Turani.
