NORTH INDIA, 18TH CENTURY
Ink and gouache on paper, depicting a Mughal officer heavily armed with a tulwar and a katar both of which are lightly coloured, his facial hair and lips with a delicate colour wash, set inside wide blue border with gold and red rules, reverse with a black nasta'liq quatrain in black ink set in a white cloud on gold ground, signed Jawahir Raqm, set in gold-speckled margins with gold and polychrome rules, mounted, framed and glazed
Portrait 7½ x 4in. (18.6 x 10.3cm.); folio 9¾ x 6¼in. (24.8 x 15.8cm.)
