Opaque pigments heightened with gold on paper, a dark-skinned yogini seats in a columned pavilion, leaning against a striped bolster, a plantain tree and an evergreen to the left, a yellow cartouche with two lines of devanagari text above, with yellow and red borders, minor rubbing, two small holes, otherwise in very good condition, mounted, glazed and framed

Lot Essay

Another folio from a Book of Dreams, depicting Chandra, the Moon God, is very probably from the same series as the present example (https://collections.lacma.org/node/248100). It is attributed to Udaipur circa 1700-1725.
