Opaque pigments and gold and silver on paper, Krishna and Balarama seated in a walled garden with attendants around, the blossoming trees around the walls leading to a white marble gate, the main protagonists with identification inscriptions in white devanagari script, with blue and light pink borders, the now separate protective sheet of paper with identification inscriptions in black devanagari script and English, good condition overall

Lot Essay

The English inscription on the loose protective folio reads "Sri Krishna having arrived Kundanpoor (?) holds a meeting with his brother Balram in the Raja's garden to decide on the subject of removing Rukmani from the palace, whence he receives the love letter".
