The decoration of this box, using bands of finely worked 'comma-shaped' motifs, is close to pieces produced in Karimnagar, Deccan, through the 18th century. For instance, see two toilet sets, of 19 and 32 pieces in the Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg, dated mid-18th century and attributed to Karimnagar (https://www.hermitagemuseum.org/html_En/12/2005/hm12_1_21_3_5.html)
