MAMLUK EGYPT OR SYRIA, 14TH/15TH CENTURY
Juz' II, Hizb IV, Arabic manuscript on paper, consisting of 31ff. plus 2 fly-leaves each with 5ll. of elegant black muhaqqaq script, with occasional vocalisation markers in red and blue minor naskh script, gold, blue and red rosette verse markers, gold and polychrome hizb section markers set inside oval cartouches in the margins, final folio with gold and blue rules and large marginal medallions containing cusped palmettes on either side, with later added red scrolling vine on hatched ground, set in modern brown binding
Folio 10¼ x 7 3/8in. (26 x 19cm.)
