IRAN, DATED AH 1042 AND AH 1043/1632-34 AD
The complete prose and poetic works of Sa'di, Persian manuscript on paper, 359ff. plus five fly-leaves, each folio with 19ll. of black nasta'liq script arranged in three columns between double black-ruled gold divisions, one of the columns with text written diagonally, the opening bifolio and three other title bifolia with finely illuminated gold and polychrome heading bordered with marginal floral illumination, fifth heading more simply illuminated, with three illustrations (two original and one inserted), two colophons dated Tuesday 3 Safar (?) AH 1042 and 25 (?) Dhu al-Hijja AH 1043, with old Indian repair throughout, with later added notes and ex libris of Giles Robertson, in fine Kashmiri lacquer binding
