Contemporary vellum, green edges (some staining). Provenance: shelf mark on spine label and title -- Compagnia del Gesú, Rome (book label and stamp on title).
THE FIRST BOOK PRINTED IN URBINO in the 16th-century, and only the fourth overall. A press was set up by the mathematician Federico Commandino whom hired the printer Domenico Frisolino to publish his own translation of Euclid in Italian. Adams E995; Gamba 1386.
