The complete set of ten lithographs and the title, 1879, on Chine appliqué paper, fine impressions from the edition of 25, printed by Lemercier, Paris, the full sheets, some foxing mostly in the margins, otherwise in good condition, within the original pale blue paper folder (backed), with the lithographic frontispiece and title and the printer's address on the front; within a modern half-morocco and cloth-covered box (portfolio)

Lot Essay

Complete sets of Dans le rêve, Odilon Redon's first series of lithographs, are exceedingly rare. Of the 25 sets printed, most have been dispersed and very few full sets appear to have survived. To our knowledge, non has been offered at auction for 25 years.
