ATTRIBUTED TO JEAN-BAPTISTE TILLIARD, CIRCA 1750

The richly carved frames of these fauteuils, with sinuous lines and distinctive heart-shaped cabochons, is typical of the work of the celebrated Tilliard dynasty of menuisiers. A chair of a similar profile by Jean Baptiste Tilliard I, with the same C-scroll clasps heading the legs, is ilustrated in P.
