A ROMAN MARBLE PORTRAIT HEAD OF A MAN
LATE 1ST-EARLY 2ND CENTURY A.D.
Depicted with head turned slightly to the right, with short hair brushed forwards onto the forehead in comma-shaped locks, with strong features, heavily furrowed brow, eyes with well-defined upper and lower lids and arching eyebrows, with prominent nasolabial creases framing the downward turned mouth, and rounded chin, on a later Siena marble draped bust and grey veined marble socle
