Referencing Taoist poetry and informed by classical Chinese garden
stone work, this uniquely expressive design was conceived for the China Chair Project, 2007-2008. By exposing the friction between the natural and the synthetic, the ancient and the modern, the suite offers the spectator a distinctly non-Western interpretation of both structure and aesthetics, yielding an elegant contribution towards the narrative of design into the twenty-first century.
