A SUZHOU AGATE 'MONKEYS AND PEACH' PENDANT
QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
The pendant is carved and pierced with two monkeys playfully clambering on a leafy branch bearing a large peach. A small dragonfly is depicted to one side, with a bat to the reverse above a wan symbol. The semi-translucent agate is of a pale tone with dark brown inclusions cleverly utilised to highlight the dragonfly and the wan symbol.
