A SOAPSTONE FIGURE OF A LUOHAN
18TH CENTURY
The seated figure is depicted with a serene expression. His hands are joined together and raised above his knees. His layered robes are left open at the chest and the pearl, turquoise and onyx-inlaid edges are incised with stylised clouds. The stone is of pale beige tone with russet inclusions.
