A SMALL INLAID BRONZE CENSER

The vessel with silver wire inlay is decorated to the compressed globular body with a geometric band encirclng eleven characters reading da ming xuan de san nian yuan yue ji ri zhi, which may be translated as 'Made on an auspicious day in the first month of the third year of Xuande period'. The base is cast with a Xuande four-character mark and bears a Shisou maker's mark.
