A BLUE AND WHITE 'PEONY' BOWL
KANGXI SIX-CHARACTER MARK WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1662-1722)
The bowl has deep rounded sides that rise towards an everted rim. It is decorated in vibrant shades of cobalt blue to both the cavetto on the interior and exterior, depicting a peony scroll with large blooms, leafy tendrils and stems, and smaller flower-heads. The interior has a central roundel enclosing a small tree peony.
6½ in. (16.5 cm.) diam.
